CASE STUDY

THE CHALLENGE

Too often, people who are treated for depression report an improved mood, but never fully recover their cognitive function. Hopes of returning to full participation in everyday life and work can be destroyed. Despite this, the vital importance of cognition in depression is often underestimated by physicians.

THE SOLUTION

Determined to raise the profile of cognition in depression among physicians, Complete HealthVizion worked with an influential group of globally renowned experts to pioneer a new program, raising awareness and changing attitudes toward thinking on cognition in depression.

THE OUTCOME

This group of experts has now educated more than 1000 physicians through a range of educational events in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. As a result, over 70% of the attendees indicated that they would now consider cognition more carefully when treating their patients with depression. The group also developed the first assessment tool specifically for cognitive dysfunction in depression, now available globally. That’s not all: treatment guidelines for depression now incorporate cognitive dysfunction, and health authorities recognize the importance of end points assessing cognition.
